GigaMesh Workshop

GigaMesh is an open source software framework for displaying, visualising and editing 3D models. GigaMesh was specifically designed with ancient history research in mind and therefore offers advanced functions to optimise the work with corresponding objects (inscription carriers, ceramics, etc.).

The workshop will be held by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Hubert Mara (Uni Halle, eHumanities). He works at the interface of computer science and the humanities and social sciences and is part of the GigaMesh development team.

Aims of the workshop

  • To teach students of Ancient Studies the basics of the software framework GigaMesh
  • Strengthen competences in dealing with 3D models
